This is a harpy eagle, south american and I think the largest of the eagles...love this tattoo, almost all monochromatic... just some reds and yellows and a little green.

This is a painting I did for a friend whose 15 year old son has freidrichs ataxia. Its a disease that affects his motor skills, and most likely will have heart disease and other problems to face.
we printed the art on skateboards and all proceeds went to the family.
I did this at Jeff Gogues last painting seminar, had a blast, thanks man! Its now at a show at Optic Nerve Arts in Portland Or. and hope it makes it home, I like this one....T shirts to come soon of this..
Jeff also came to visit last weekend and did an amazing Frazetta tattoo, also finished an interview with me for tattoo artist magazine. so honored!
This Kirin tattoo is on Dave Barnitz, awsome artis and person. Great conversations about having integrity in our work....Thanks man!
These are a few paintings I did for my daughter Olivia. 15 months old now and every day is amazing to watch her push her own boundries. Im slowing down a bit on conventions just to be watch her thrive and grow and Im just amazed at how fast it happens....

been a while...

Been a bit since Ive had time to get on here. funny how fast life can go when your always got something on your mind...I always find if I try to do too much I spread myself too thin and nothing is a good as I had hoped. keep it simple! I need to always remind myself that...simple and positive. So alot has happened since the last blog. lots of fun tattoos, some fun paintings and a few books Ive been published in. The first book is called "Tattoo Prodigies" and is put out by Mike DeVries and can be found at www.reflectedart.com so happy to be part of this, the level of artists in this book is ridiculous and Im just honored to even be considered.

The second is "Innerstate" the dvd book combo available from www.hyperspacestudios.com on the 5 days of painting at the hell city show in columbus. so inspired after getting this , I want to do it again....so I am! september heading to hancock mass. for the paradise artist retreat.

This is the 3rd session on Jamie, an amazing artist that works at pretty in ink in Roseville ca.
still have a few sessions to go, but pretty happy with the progress and really like the way it fits.
gonna put a bit more warmer colors to balance all the cools.
These paintings were a few done at the national show in seattle this year. They were auctioned off at the show and raised about $13,000 for the hardship fund that helps people in the association that fall on hard times. super fun and got to paint with some of the best...Aaron Bell, Henning Jorgensen, Jeff Gogue, Manuel Valenzula,Mike Godfrey,JoJo Ackerman,Kahlil from tattoo city, to name a few.

Its been a busy 3 or so weeks, seems non stop! I had a great time at the Innerstate project at hell city in columbus ohio.  So many talented artists and so much inspiration, its hard to process it all.  I had the pleasure of painting alongside some of the best...Chris Dingwell, Nikko, Shawn Barber,Guy Aitchison,Jeff Gogue, Don Mcdonald....the list is amazing to me, and so happy to be a part of it. There was many great pieces, Im really looking forward to the book and dvd, so be on the look out!

A week of so after, I drove up to grants pass oregon and attended Jeff gogue's painting workshop again...its maybe my 3rd or 4th time up there and can recommend it to anyone who really want inspiration. I drove up with Jon Highland from 12 monkeys in Tracy. was great to connect with him and have some good conversation. Again, some really talented people attended...Damon Conklin, Jason Butcher,Paco Excel,Jo Harrison to name a few....So lucky to be able to be around so many talented artists. Havent finished the painting from the workshop yet, but will post it as soon as its done.

Also, the end of this week Im off to Portland to attend the "Blood and Feathers" opening at Optic Nerve. Ill be taking pictures for sure and posting.....again, a huge honor to be a part of it.

Very Honored!

So I did an interview for Skin Deep magazine last August at the tattoo jam convention in North Wales...really honored to have been asked, I was even more honored to find out they used the material for their other magazine Tattoo master.

This is a trade journal for artists only and I was really happy to see Horiyoshi 3 is the guest editor for the issue, his work and the length of his career has been a huge inspiration for me. I just hope that I still have alot of drive when I his the 30 year mark in tattooing.

Tattoo Master is a european publication and can be ordered from their website http://www.tattoomaster.co.uk/

A huge thanks to Graham Martin from Thou Art in Sheffield for doing the interview and getting it to the guys over there.

The beginning of the blog....

So I have finally entered the world of
blogging and hope to keep it updated, but like everything, there's just not enough time to keep up with it all.
my main purpose of the blog site is to up date the conventions I will be attending as well as projects, art shows, trips etc...

So for starters I have a small list of events I will be attending so far this year, and may add a few more, but with the arrival of our daughter Olivia Meri, I have to slow the travels a bit.

Hell City, Columbus Oh. (painting for Innerstate project) May 27-31

  Seattle tattoo expo aug 8-10

Paradise Tattoo Gathering Hancock Mass. Sept. 17-20

I also have a collaborative art show coming up at the artist studio I belong to. (ASIF art studios)  It will have 40 plus local artists showing, and it's all small pieces. 12x12 or smaller, so there will be lots to look at!

The innerstate project is headed up by Guy Aitchison and Michelle Wortman and will be in conjunction with the Hell city convention. Im really excited about this, and the list of artists attending is amazing! There will be a book, and dvd of the event and Ill will be posting more details when it evolves.

Im working on a few ideas now for the rose project put on by the great folks at Thou art in sheffield England.
All proceeds are going to charities and there will be a postcard book available through them. Ill update when I get more info.

And last for now, I'm honored to be part of a collaborative show at Optic nerve tattoo in Portland Oregon. The title is blood and feathers, and I'm still working out concepts, but I like the subject matter!  www.opticnervearts.com
