Its been a busy 3 or so weeks, seems non stop! I had a great time at the Innerstate project at hell city in columbus ohio.  So many talented artists and so much inspiration, its hard to process it all.  I had the pleasure of painting alongside some of the best...Chris Dingwell, Nikko, Shawn Barber,Guy Aitchison,Jeff Gogue, Don Mcdonald....the list is amazing to me, and so happy to be a part of it. There was many great pieces, Im really looking forward to the book and dvd, so be on the look out!

A week of so after, I drove up to grants pass oregon and attended Jeff gogue's painting workshop again...its maybe my 3rd or 4th time up there and can recommend it to anyone who really want inspiration. I drove up with Jon Highland from 12 monkeys in Tracy. was great to connect with him and have some good conversation. Again, some really talented people attended...Damon Conklin, Jason Butcher,Paco Excel,Jo Harrison to name a few....So lucky to be able to be around so many talented artists. Havent finished the painting from the workshop yet, but will post it as soon as its done.

Also I have been really busy with tattooing as well, heres a couple images that Im proud of lately....
Also, the end of this week Im off to Portland to attend the "Blood and Feathers" opening at Optic Nerve. Ill be taking pictures for sure and posting.....again, a huge honor to be a part of it.

Very Honored!

So I did an interview for Skin Deep magazine last August at the tattoo jam convention in North Wales...really honored to have been asked, I was even more honored to find out they used the material for their other magazine Tattoo master.

This is a trade journal for artists only and I was really happy to see Horiyoshi 3 is the guest editor for the issue, his work and the length of his career has been a huge inspiration for me. I just hope that I still have alot of drive when I his the 30 year mark in tattooing.

Tattoo Master is a european publication and can be ordered from their website http://www.tattoomaster.co.uk/

A huge thanks to Graham Martin from Thou Art in Sheffield for doing the interview and getting it to the guys over there.

The beginning of the blog....

So I have finally entered the world of
blogging and hope to keep it updated, but like everything, there's just not enough time to keep up with it all.
my main purpose of the blog site is to up date the conventions I will be attending as well as projects, art shows, trips etc...

So for starters I have a small list of events I will be attending so far this year, and may add a few more, but with the arrival of our daughter Olivia Meri, I have to slow the travels a bit.

Hell City, Columbus Oh. (painting for Innerstate project) May 27-31

  Seattle tattoo expo aug 8-10

Paradise Tattoo Gathering Hancock Mass. Sept. 17-20

I also have a collaborative art show coming up at the artist studio I belong to. (ASIF art studios)  It will have 40 plus local artists showing, and it's all small pieces. 12x12 or smaller, so there will be lots to look at!

The innerstate project is headed up by Guy Aitchison and Michelle Wortman and will be in conjunction with the Hell city convention. Im really excited about this, and the list of artists attending is amazing! There will be a book, and dvd of the event and Ill will be posting more details when it evolves.

Im working on a few ideas now for the rose project put on by the great folks at Thou art in sheffield England.
All proceeds are going to charities and there will be a postcard book available through them. Ill update when I get more info.

And last for now, I'm honored to be part of a collaborative show at Optic nerve tattoo in Portland Oregon. The title is blood and feathers, and I'm still working out concepts, but I like the subject matter!  www.opticnervearts.com
